In early December 2025, the HSE International College of Economics and Finance (HSE ICEF) held a student meeting with Stefan Dürr, founder and President of the EkoNiva Group, at the HSE building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The entrepreneur spoke about his journey from running a small farm in southern Germany to building the largest agribusiness in Russia, and offered advice to aspiring entrepreneurs on how to succeed in the industry. The event continued a series of meetings between ICEF students and prominent Russian practising economists and business leaders.

HSE University in Perm hosted a meeting with Tatyana Kim, head of RWB and founder of Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retail platform. The event took the form of an open dialogue and was devoted to the role of marketplaces in the digitalisation of the economy and the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

Argentine Ambassador Visits HSE University
The HSE Moscow campus held a meeting with Enrique IgnacioFerrer Vieyra, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to the Russian Federation. HSE Vice Rector Victoria Panova, Academic Supervisor of the School of International Regional Studies at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs Olga Volosyuk, and Head of the International Partnerships Office Ksenia Shevtsova took part in the meeting. The parties discussed opportunities for expanding academic cooperation, including student exchanges, translation projects, and joint research initiatives.

The 25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development brought together leading Russian and Western scientists. Among the guests was Jose Luis Cordeiro, PhD, international fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, Chair of the Millennium Project's Venezuela node, former professor at MIPT and HSE University, and author of The Death of Death.

First Lady of Brazil Visits HSE University
On May 7, Janja Lula da Silva—the First Lady of Brazil and a prominent advocate for sustainable development who initiated the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty—visited HSE University. She held a meeting with HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov, where they explored promising avenues for strengthening Russia–Brazil collaboration in science and education. HSE University also hosted a round table discussion titled ‘The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty as a Key to Modern International Cooperation,’ featuring Janja Lula da Silva as a distinguished guest.

In November, an open talk with Tatyana Bakalchuk, the founder of Wildberries, took place at HSE University’s Cultural Centre. The topic of the meeting was ‘The Era of the Platform Economy: Opportunities and Prospects for Everyone.’ A thousand people gathered to listen to the speech—students, teachers, and staff not only from HSE University, but also from other universities, as well as representatives of the business community. The event was organised by the HSE Business Club.

On November 24, a unique event for HSE international students—a practice-oriented training session on ‘How to Make a Good Impression in an Interview: Non-Verbal Communication’—took place at HSE University. Natalia Trubnikova, author of the training, covered the basics of nonverbal communication and body language; non-verbal mistakes that lead to difficulties, misunderstandings and communication failures; cross-cultural features of sign language, speed and manner of gesticulation, speech features; nonverbal tips and tricks to convey your point of view, and much more. Together with the expert, HSE students worked on self-confidence and solved real communication cases.
