On May 24, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum opens in St. Petersburg. This year, the Higher School of Economics not only takes part in the official programme of the forum, but also organizes a series of discussions to be held at its stand.
Schedule of HSE stand at SPIEF 2018
Last year the Higher School of Economics took part in the forum programme for the first time. An interactive presentation ‘What Will Happen to Humanity in 25 Years’ was demonstrated at HSE stand. The presentation was based on the monitoring of global technological trends conducted by HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge. Mini-lectures presented by three-dimensional projections of HSE scholars were also demonstrated at a virtual lecture hall. This year, in addition to interactive presentations, HSE stand will also feature a series of discussions.

The iFORA system analyzes huge amounts of information from open sources (more than 25 million documents, including scientific articles, patents, reviews and media publications). It helps to map trends, make forecasts, identify emerging markets, and define competence centres and cooperative networks.
During the discussion, the developers of the iFORA system will demonstrate its capabilities and will discuss the growing role of new tools for strategic analytics with the representatives of companies, universities and government agencies.

Ensuring that young people have exciting and motiving options for employment is one of the goals of the President of the Russian Federation’s ‘May Decrees’. When young people willingly enter science, remain in it and successfully reach their potential, it is clear that the field is thriving.

The Coordinating Council for Youth in Science and Education (part of the Presidential Council for Science and Education) has initiated a project to identify and remove barriers which stand in front of young people wishing to enter science.
