World Bank Rates HSE Logistics Educational Programmes the Best in Russia
A group of experts, brought together by the World Bank conducted an independent international review of the Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Master’s in Strategic Management in Logistics at HSE.
The expert group includes well-known academics Caroline Chen, Head of the School of IT Business and Logistics at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, Said Salhi Director of the Centre on Logistics and Heuristic Optimisation at the School of Business, University of Kent, and Mandar Dabhilkar, Associate Professor of Operations Management at Stockholm Business School. They assessed the content of the programmes, according to international quality standards. They found HSE to be an indisputable leader in Russia in training highly-skilled specialists in logistics and business supply chains management. This is evident, not only in the high levels of know-how among graduates of the Faculty of Business and Management but also in the university’s contribution to strategic national and international projects in logistics relating to Russia’s state interests.
The experts consider the structure and content of the HSE courses to be on a par with similar programmes in universities around the world. They point out the particular strength of the School of Logistics in its ties with industry and professional associations of logistics specialists. The report draws attention to the high level of knowledge, enthusiasm and goodwill among the teaching staff and the particular abilities, motivation and determination to master professional competences of the students. The World Bank experts noticed that graduates have no difficulty finding jobs and have the advantage of a high demand for their skills on the job market in large international industries, and companies in trade and consulting.

HSE and Lappeenranta University of Technology to launch exchange programme in 2015
Agreements have been signed on a student exchange programme between the HSE and Finland’s Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT). The documents also call for the creation of dual-degree master’s programmes between the two universities.
