HSE University Named Federal Leader in IT Education by RUSSOFT

On December 5, the award ceremony of the RUSSOFT ranking of top universities took place. The ranking assesses the quality and scale of specialist training in the field of software development among Russian educational institutions. HSE University took fourth place in the 2024 rankings and was named a ‘federal leader.’

‘This award from the professional community is important and dear to our university. It is a testament to the quality of education at HSE University and the demand for it in the rapidly growing IT field. This award is also an acknowledgement that HSE University has long been about more than “just economics”. It is a major IT university and a federal leader in this educational field,’ noted HSE University Vice Rector Sergey Roshchin.

The ranking is based on surveys of software development companies conducted as part of an annual study of the Russian software industry. This year, a record number of educational institutions appeared in the ranking: more than 130, including 121 universities and nine colleges. The figures also illustrate the high level of interest among employers towards graduates of leading educational institutions and highlight the importance of high-quality training for the IT industry.
