of heads of Russian companies believe they do not have enough professional knowledge and skills for career development and professional growth. They would like to receive additional specialized training or education.
At companies that are planning to undergo technological modernization in the near future, top managers are increasingly looking to fill gaps in knowledge (55% of managers). However, often interfering with managers’ plans are not having enough time (22%), inconvenient locations of training centres, or even the lack of relevant training programmes (12%).
These data were obtained in a survey of company heads in six sectors of the economy in 2014, which was conducted as part of the Monitoring of Education Markets and Organizations study by the Higher School of Economics and the Levada Centre. The results will be published in the second half of this year.
