Transmedia projects are now a cornerstone of modern education and the digital sphere. They allow museum collections to come to life through animation, and complex physical phenomena to be visualized. Over the course of a year and a half, students of the master’s programme ‘Transmedia Production in Digital Industries’ studied under leading museum staff and professors of HSE's media department to gain the necessary skills and knowledge for this kind of production. In February, the programme’s first graduating class presented the creative fruits of their labour.

Set to launch in the fall of 2020, HSE’s new English-taught master’s programme ‘Economics, Politics, and Business in Asia’ is now accepting applications. Students of the programme will spend their first and fourth semesters at HSE University in Moscow and their second and third semesters at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. Programme graduates will receive a diploma from each partner university. Professor Denis Shcherbakov, programme Academic Supervisor, explains what students can expect in the new programme.

One of the Shukhov Lab’s most significant projects is its master’s programme in Prototyping Future Cities. Graduates of the programme told HSE University Life about innovations they have developed to help preserve the environment, promote balanced growth, and improve cities.

Md Tahsir Ahmed Munna is a second-year master’s student in Data Science at HSE. He is also one of the international students nominated for HSE’s Silver Nestling Award in 2019. Munna’s master’s thesis focuses on knowledge graph-based recommender systems, and he works as a research assistant at HSE’s Laboratory for Models and Methods of Computational Pragmatics. HSE News Service spoke with Munna about studying Data Science at HSE, working on his thesis, and living in Moscow.

The Faculty of Business and Management recently held a research workshop for university students and graduates from CIS countries and various Russian cities, which attracted prospective students of the Experience Economy: Hospitality Management and Tourism master’s programme. The HSE University guests learned much about the role of events in the profession, and they had the opportunity to speak with programme teachers and tourism professionals.

The Faculty of Humanities is now accepting applications to its new Master’s programme, ‘Germanica: History and Modernity’ for the fall of 2020. The programme gives students a wide-ranging knowledge of the German-speaking regions of the world—Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The programme is taught in Russian and German. Friederike Augustin is a second year Master’s student in Comparative Social Research double degree programme with Free University of Berlin. After reading European Studies for her Bachelor’s she enrolled in an Eastern European Studies programme to have the opportunity to spend some time in Russia.
